Step-by-Step Process
Your hair needs more than regular shampoo for best nourishment.
Step 1
Begin by gently shampooing the hair without scrubbing the scalp, then towel dry thoroughly without brushing.
Step 2
Divide the hair into four sections and apply Silk Essence Straightening Cream half an inch away from the scalp, starting at the nape and combing each section straight with a wide-tooth comb.
Step 3
Allow the cream to process for five minutes, then test strands from various areas like the crown, back, sides, and top by wrapping them around your finger to check if the curl opens. Repeat this test every five minutes until fully processed.
Step 4
Once the hair is processed, rinse thoroughly with warm water for five to seven minutes.
Step 5
After rinsing, finger dry the hair using a dryer until only 10 to 20% moisture remains, preparing it for the ironing step.
Step 6
Section the hair into 1/8-inch parts starting at the nape, and iron at a safe temperature of up to 180°C, keeping the iron half to three-quarters of an inch away from the scalp. Treat each section in 2-second passes.
Step 7
Continue ironing up to the crown and top of the head, ensuring every strand is straightened evenly for a smooth, silky finish.
